Special Educational Needs (SEND)

At Egerton Nursery and Out of School Club, Bolton, we provide a positive and welcoming environment to all children and parents. Here at Egerton, children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities will have a key adult responsible for their care and will be:

  • Encouraged to develop and learn alongside their peers.

  • Supported with their individual needs.

  • Encouraged and helped to take part in every aspect of the nursery day.

We are justifiably proud of our core team of staff who are very experienced in the care of children with additional needs; Parents feel that their children settle quickly and thrive here. Ofsted said:

“Caring and dedicated staff ensure that every child is nurtured and their individual needs are met. Staff work closely with outside agencies and parents to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. This helps children to settle very well. Children feel safe and secure and develop close bonds with the staff. Staff encourage children to do things for themselves and help them to learn”

We understand the importance of liaison with parents, families and other professionals/ agencies in the care of SEND children. We are also ideally placed to ensure information exchange and continuity of care for those children transferring to Egerton Community School Bolton.  For more information see our Transitions to School page.

We will provide a broad and balanced early learning environment for all children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. We have experience with the following special needs, however, this list is not exhaustive so please don’t hesitate to talk to us about your child’s individual requirements.

  • Communication related difficulties such as dyspraxia, non- verbal, English as an additional language.
